Tom Lau was born in Hong Kong in 1967. He has been working as a fine art artist and illustrator for over 2 decades and has won several competitions: 1994 - The Philippe Charriol Foundation Fine Art Competition,1995 - Caran D’che Sunday Artist of the Year Competition,2000 - The CGWORLD& Digital Video Character Design Competition. His illustration clients include Hong Kong Disneyland, HSBC, Coca-Cola, Cheung Kong Limited, Ocean Park....  He also did over a hundred memorable oil paintings for Ming Pao Weekly Magazine and the most remarkable painting of the Character ”Fire Phoenix”  for the 36th Hong Kong International Film Festival. The artwork was selected in 2013 The Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles 51st annual Illustration West Competition. The artwork was selected in 2014 Lürzer's Archiv 200 Best Illustrators Worldwide. Hong Kong & Macau Illustrations Exhibition 2014 at Macau Museum of Art. The winner of Ten Outstanding Designers 2014.In 2022, he was selected as the runner-up in the portrait category of the International Art Professionals Awards painting competition of MONDIAL ART ACADEMIA in France. In 2023, he was selected for the 5th International Leonardo Da Vinci Prize in Milan, Italy and TOP ARTISTS – The Protagonists of Contemporary Art in Venice, Italy.

 

劉德明(Tom Lau)生於香港1967年。1993年香港理工學院插畫班畢業。1994年法國夏利豪現代繪畫比賽(Philippe Charriol)及1995年瑞士卡達顏色比賽(CARAN d’ACHE)冠軍。2000年CG World人物設計比賽冠軍。2012第36屆香港國際電影節設計及繪畫主題角色"火鳳凰。入選第51屆美國洛杉磯插畫師協會西方插畫比賽2013。入選德國Lürzer's Archiv全球最佳二百位插畫師2014。港澳插畫交流展2014在澳門藝術博物館展出及獲選2014年香港十大傑出設計師。2022年獲選法國MONDIAL ART ACADEMIA的International Art Professionals Awards繪畫比賽人像組亞軍。2023入選意大利米蘭5th International Leonardo Da Vinci Prize藝術獎及入選意大利威尼斯TOP ARTISTS – The Protagonists of Contemporary Art.
